Baltic amber is known to alleviate teething pain – but it’s not just for babies!
Thanks to Jurassic Park, we all know amber is the fossilized resin from prehistoric trees, dating as far back as 50 million years ago.
Wearing amber can have soothing and healing effects on adults, kids, and even dogs (yes, dogs – but that’s another workshop!).
When worn, the body’s warmth releases miniscule amounts of succinic acid from the amber, which is then absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream.
Succinic acid gives it its power! It’s an antioxidant that helps bolster the immune system. In addition, it can improve physical and mental energy, and boost concentration.
Baltic amber may relieve menstrual cramps, menopausal issues, headaches, arthritis, aching muscles or joints, anxiety, fatigue, and weariness.
Did you know?
- Ancient Egyptians used pine resin (amber) as an embalming agent.
- Doctors and nurses in WWII, lacking anything else, would sometimes slap tree sap (amber) on a wound as a disinfectant and saved lives that way!
- Some Lithuanian tribes used amber incense to drive away evil spirits from the dead and help the soul travel on its journey.
Whoa! It works on EMFs?!
We’re all surrounded by electrical devices. Radios, TVs, microwaves, hair-driers, computers, and cell phones all affect our bodies. There’s research that we may protect ourselves against their negative influence by wearing amber.
But, be careful what you purchase! Copal is also a tree resin, but it hasn’t fully fossilized. It’s usually only thousands of years old, instead of millions of years. It’s much cheaper, so it’s often sold as “amber.” To confirm you have purchased the real deal, Velya & Ehris will share some tests that you can try at home.
Join Velya and Ehris to learn about the history, benefits, and science of Baltic amber.
